24 Dec Watch: “The Unbreakable Virgin Islanders” talk Surviving Trauma from Hurricanes Irma and Maria
After already earning critical-acclaim at its US mainland debut at USC’s storied School of Cinematic Arts followed by an equally impressive showing at the University of Delaware, “The Unbreakable Virgin Islanders” returned to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islanders for a second screening since premiering on the embattled island back on September 16. The screening at the University of the Virgin Islands was part of renowned author and journalist Peter Bailey’s current Unbreakable tour which is gaining supporters nationwide.
In this recap from the event, a cross-section of Virgin Islanders including newly-elected Senator Donna Frett-Gregory, the recent elections leading voter, talk show host Anita Davis, veteran journalist Nefta Romain and others discuss the positive impact Unbreakable has had on the US territory’s recovery while facing the trauma stemming from surviving both hurricanes Irma and Maria.
