22 Aug The Unbreakable Virgin Islanders Head to Toronto’s Caribbean Tales International Film Festival
After an incredible screening at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention in Miami on August 10th, the cultural tour de force that has become “Paradise Discovered: The Unbreakable Virgin Islanders” now heads to Toronto for the Caribbean Tales International Film Festival.
This upcoming Canadian premiere will mark the first time a film based on the Virgin Islands has been named an official selection at an internationally acclaimed festival. The screening marks the 17th stop on a global tour that began on September 16th in St. Thomas on Bailey’s birthday, the day after his father Joseph Bailey was laid to rest.
Unbreakable will be the featured film on September 13th for the festival’s “Environmental” themed night. The festival’s founder Frances Anne-Solomon was recently named an official judge for the Oscars after being nominated by acclaimed filmmaker Ava Duvernay.
