This award-winning series based on Bailey’s now infamous New York Times Op Ed “Has America Forgotten the Virgin Islands”  has been featured on NPR, NBC, and Daily Kos in light of the filmmaker’s ongoing college tour which has included lectures and screenings at Brown, USC, USF, the College of Charleston and University of Delaware.

In this first offering from the Paradise Discovered series an array of voices including Pam Webster, Anguilla’s first female Opposition Leader, legendary reggae singer Bankie Banx and even Peter Bailey’s mother share their hopes for Anguilla’s future since surviving hurricane Irma. The film also sheds light on the Anguilla Revolution like never before. “I began the series in Anguilla my mother’s homeland, because during the storms I wanted to know where she garnered her strength,” says Bailey. “It’s time the world understands the Caribbean and the dynamic people who live beyond a tourist brochure.” An island “where love is the center of all things” as described in this riveting documentary, Anguilla is a mystical land where old world values and modernization are finding it hard to co-exist.
