NiteCap

You know his face. He’s the brains behind the critically-acclaimed series “Nitecap Live,” a docu-series touching on real topics, with some of music and entertainments biggest names. In 2010, Peter Bailey published his first book Magic City: Trials of a Native Son, written in collaboration with Miami rap legend Trick Daddy. It was through his work, that Bailey chronicled Trick’s poverty-stricken childhood, difficult juvenescence and eventual incarceration for drug trafficking, leading to his redemption and fame against the backdrop of Miami.

Now, the Virgin-Islander is returning to his roots and returning to his homeland, alongside actor and NBC star Tone Bell to pay it forward. An alumna of Ivanna Eudora Kean, Bailey will host a taping of his very popular “NiteCap” series with the “Truth Be Told” sitcom star, inside Charlotte Amalie Senior High’s Auditorium on December 18, 2015, at 12:30 pm in partnership with the USVI Department of Tourism. Naturally, the award-winning journalist has invited juniors and seniors from both Charlotte Amalie and Ivanna Eudora Kean high schools to be a part of the audience and partake in the introspective discussion with Bell about achieving and maintaining success. Several local artists are also slated to perform.

“I’ve always wanted to create a bridge for Virgin Islands’ youth to connect to their dreams and with those who can make those dreams a reality as well as stir a cultural and economic renaissance of sorts in the territory,” says Bailey. “I’m happy that tourism and education officials embraced this vision.”

A nationally-recognized author, the 35-year-old has been credited by Rick Ross as “pushing the culture forward.” Bell, who’s starred on a variety of shows including NBC’s “Bad Judge” and VH1’s “Single Ladies” will be the latest guest to be featured. Past guests include the likes of Mike Tyson, Fantasia, 50 Cent, Ice T, Janelle Monae, Chad Johnson and Mike Epps. Before launching “NiteCap,” Bailey wrote for TimeNewsweek and the Miami Herald.

The event is free and open to the public with guests required to RSVP at [email protected]. Taping begins promptly at 12:30 pm. For more information, visit Iampeterbailey.com. Shout out to Bailey for continuing to push boundaries and spreading the knowledge!
